01 / What it is

A short, evidence-based ontology audit.

Most maturity assessments take three months and produce a 60 page deck nobody reads. Ours takes ten working days and produces a working draft ontology, a gap analysis, and the three things you need to do next, with realistic timelines and costs.

We work alongside your engineering and data teams. We look at the systems, not just the slides. We talk to the people who actually run the pipelines, not just the people who present them. By the end of week two you have a machine-readable model of your business that you could put into version control the next morning.

The same data. The same systems. With meaning between them.
02 / The shape of it

Ten days. Five stages.

DAYS 1-2

Inventory

We catalogue your data sources, AI projects, and the entities the business keeps disagreeing about. Quietly, without disrupting delivery work.

DAYS 3-5

Domain interviews

Twenty minute conversations with business stakeholders, data engineers and ML practitioners. Three to five per domain. We extract the natural-language definitions your business actually uses.

DAYS 6-7

Draft the ontology

We model the core entities, relationships and constraints in OWL or similar. Versioned, reviewed, signed off by the people whose definitions we used.

DAYS 8-9

Map the data

For each ontology class, we identify which existing tables, files and APIs provide it, and where the gaps and conflicts are. The output is your foundations backlog.

DAY 10

Readout

A 90 minute session with your leadership team. We walk through the ontology, the gaps, and the 90 day plan. We take the hard questions and leave you with the artefacts.

AFTER

Yours to keep

No lock-in. The ontology and the gap analysis are yours, in open formats. If you want to act on it without us, we tell you who else does this work well.

03 / What you leave with

A working ontology. Not a deck.

Pricing

The ontology assessment is a fixed-fee engagement. We will quote you on the first call. Most enterprise assessments fall in the £18k to £35k range depending on the breadth of domains and the depth of your existing data estate.
